Congratulations MESA!!

Our amazing MESA students competed Saturday at the UC Irvine MESA Day.  They calculated their way out of the Math Escape Room, tested out their popsicle stick bridges, launched gliders, showed off their water filtration invention, created Rube Goldberg machines, engineered prosthetic arms, and invented motorized trash cans on wheels for the disabled using Arduino robotic programing. We had winners in the following events: Glider 2nd place (Yasmine Duran & Brianna Mayuri) Prosthetic Arm 1st Place (Steven Covarubius, Adrian Marcel, Mishi Valdez) 2nd Place (Jacob Dufrene & Diego Lima) Prosthetic Arm Design Challenge 1st Place (Jacob Dufrene and Diego Lima) 2nd Place (Jose Orozco & Edgar Rios. Our Arduino team of Gabby Dela Cueva, Sara Diaz and David Gonzalez placed 1st in the Project Report, and 3rd in the Technical Presentation and Poster Symposium. Our 1st place winners will be representing LNMS STEAM @ Regionals in April. A huge THANKS to Coaches Ms. Sanchez and Ms. Ramirez for mentoring!!
