CyberPatriot teams compete in State Semi-Finals

Friday, January 20th our CyberPatriot teams, along with their coach, our MESA/ Project Lead the Way Computer Science teacher, Mrs. Ramirez and technical mentor, Mr. Ramirez, took on the STATE SEMI FINAL Round of the 2022-23 CyberPatriot Challenge. For the first time ever all of the LNMS STEAM Cyber teams made it to the Semi Final round of competition!

The Cyber Patriot Challenge was created by the Air Force Association (AFA), to inspire K-12 students towards careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. During the challenge, students were given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems. They were tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services over a six-hour period.

Congratulations to our LNMS STEAM teams for the 22-23 school year:

Cyber Ninjas - Keith Cho, Royal Hernandez, Samuel jimenez, Tristan Martinez, Timothy Torres

Team Cypher - Cielo Langdo, Arreille Lieb, Ayari Alvarado, Genesis Umana

Cyber Defenders -  Justyn Gomez, Christian Misa-Gonzalez, Alan Carrillo, Sebastian Guzman

Final results will be posted in the near future.
