Our amazing MESA students competed Saturday at the UC Irvine MESA Closing Ceremonies. For the SPring MESA activities students competed in 1 of 4 events: Mousetrap Car, SCRATCH Coding, I'm Going to College Presentations, and the Egg Drop. We had winners in the following events:
I’m going to College Presentations
1st Place - Jasmine Lira & Genesis Umana
2nd Place - Ayari Alvarado, Estefanie Borjas-Martinez, & Ruby Lima
3rd Place - Naomi Becerra & Aliyah Pantoja
Scratch Coding Math competition
2nd Place - Christian Serrano & Alejandro Briseno
Egg Drop
1st Place - Tristan Martinez, Adam Mayorga, & Chris Rivas
3rd Place - Urijah Lizcano & Alex Benitez
After the competition we had a BBQ and played games with the other teams while we waited for the results to be calculated. All 8th graders who participated in both MESA Day competitions received a MES pin to wear at promotion. Those 8th graders who participated in the MESA competitions for 2 years and have a 2.5 GPA or higher will be wearing a white MESA sash at promotion.
