Catalina Island Marine Institute (CIMI) at Fox Landing, is home to an
abundance of marine life and offers some of the best snorkeling on the
island. CIMI provides a unique and exciting program that enhances any
student's education by focusing on hands-on experiential science while
using a a variety of acitivities that increase science literacy,
stimulate minds, and create excitement about science. Labs and field
activities include snorkeling, fish, sharks and rays, invertebrates,
marine mammals, plankton, algae, kayaking, island ecology, squid
dissection, and hiking. This year 53 Los Nietos Middle School
students attended! The LNMS staff who chaperoned were Carlee Moyer,
Stacy Wolf, Gabriel J, Cindy Tortarolo, Ruben Sandoval, Jorge Valdes.
