STAR Ready Rally Celebrated on May 4, 2012

Students were welcomed by Principal Cardenas at a STAR Ready Rally held in front of the middle school. They were reminded that their results on the 2012 STAR served as a “report card” to the community to show the growth of this year’s students against the previous year’s cohort of students. Students were asked to arrive on time, achieve perfect attendance during the 2-week testing window, maintain their academic focus, and demonstrate overall good behavior.

The school is striving to earn a minimum API of 800, a 26-point increase over last year’s API of 749, when the school advanced 36 points. Los Nietos Middle School continues to be the only middle school in the county of Los Angeles that receives Title I funds and is NOT in Program Improvement.

Special guests at the assembly included:
*The musical stylings of the Los Nietos Middle School Band, under the direction of Mr. Carey Furnish
*Dance performance by student group, Keep It Fresh Squad and
*Solo guitar performance by Levi Hernandez.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL ON THE 2012 STAR!
Go to it, Braves! You can do it.

STAR Testing Window is from May 7th - May 18th.
