SRLA Students and Coaches Ran 26.2 Miles on March 17, 2013

A dedicated and enthusiastic group of students have prepared for the L.A. Marathon since October of 2012. They form part of an elite group of 18 LNMS students who represent the Students Run Los Angeles program. Los Nietos Middle School is privileged to be the only school east of the 605 Freeway to participate in the Los Angeles based program.

Students began arriving to school at 4:00 a.m. on the morning of the L.A. Marathon, March 17, 2013. They were in good spirits and ready to load the bus. Dressed in bright jerseys, running shorts, and sporty tennis shoes, they were anxious to arrive at the starting line.

Students and their coaches have trained long and hard afterschool and on weekends in preparation for the big run. On Marathon morning, they were once again joined by their dedicated coaches who would continue to inspire, coach, and lead them to a successful finish. The coaching team on Marathon Day was comprised of Ms. Erika Rose, Mrs. Linda Cojohn, Mr. William Chavez, Ms. Moyer, Ms. Patricia Baldelomar, and Ms. Christina Fontenot.

Congratulations to the amazing group of student athletes, their supportive families, and fabulous coaches!
