Promotion Ceremony- May 29th 9:00 a.m. (LNMS front lawn)
The ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. Seating for parents and guests will be available beginning at 8:00 a.m. We encourage early arrival, as seating is limited. Once the student procession begins, guests will be held at the gate so the procession is not interrupted. Late guest will be allowed entrance once the students are seated.
Promotion Ceremony requirements
§ Earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 during their 8th grade year.
§ No Suspensions in the 2nd semester
§ Positive Behavior grades
§ All fees must be paid (textbooks, library books, fundraisers)
§ Parents of students not participating in promotion will be notified.
8th grade Activities
End of year activities criteria:
§ Have sufficient contract points
§ Have no suspensions in quarter 4
§ Have approval from all teachers
8th grade Glow in the Dark Dance – May 22 3:30 – 5:30
This dance is for 8th grade students only. Tickets will be sold in the main office for $5. Students have selected Glow in the Dark as the theme of the dance. All school rules and the dress code will be enforced. Students who demonstrate inappropriate behavior will be escorted out and will forfeit their entrance fee.
Knott’s Berry Farm – May 28 8:30 – 5:30
Tickets will be on sale in the office for $35. If your student has a season pass they only need to pay for the bus $5.
8th grade picnic – May 23 10:00 – 1:00
We will have plenty of food and fun including inflatables at our class picnic. A $5 donation is requested to offset the cost of the activities.
Payments are now being accepted for all promotion related fees. Students please bring payments straight to the office. Payment envelopes sent home 3/31.
8th grade DVD $10
Bus only for Knott's $5 (must show season pass)
** Students may use a gown from a relative if the gown is in good shape, fits, and is the same shade of blue. Bring the gown in and we will check it for you.
