LNMS heads to the East Coast

After selling everything under the sun to raise money for their trip to the east coast, Spring Break has finally arrived.  It was with much anticipation that students packed their bags for this 8 day trip of a lifetime. On March 20, 2015 a group of 14 Los Nietos Middle School students departed Whittier en route to an educational experience of a lifetime visiting Washington DC, Gettysburg, Lancaster, PA, New York and Boston. This year, Mrs. Galapia led the student group.  While in DC the students visited the US Capitol, the Supreme Court, and stopped to look for President Obama's dog Bo while taking a group photo.  They also had a chance to see the memorials at night, and visit both Arlington National Cemetery and Mount Vernon.  Before heading out of town they stopped at Ford's Theater to see where Lincoln was shot.  By Monday they were off to Pennsylvania to explore the Gettysburg Battlefield and museum, and then on to Amish country before heading in to NYC.  While in New York City the students took in the sights of the Big Apple from the Top of the Rock, experience Time Square and toured the City.  On Tuesday night they went out for a fancy dinner and saw the Broadway play Wicked.  While in NYC the students saw the Statue of Liberty and Wall Street.  On the way to Boston they found SNOW!  Check back to see more pictures as the trip progresses.
