Cyber Patriot Challenge Awards

Last week, the Los Nietos School Board recognized our students for participating in the state-wide Cyber Patriot Challenge!

The Cyber Patriot Challenge is a national competition that puts middle and high school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals. Students are tasked with managing the network of a small company. They receive a set of virtual images that represent operating systems and have to find cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images. Students then must harden the system against these vulnerabilities, all while maintaining critical services within a six-hour period.

These students attended the Los Nietos School Board meeting on February 13th, shared their experience with the board, and received a certificate of participation. We would like to give a special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Ramirez for coaching our students during the challenge.
