Friday, December 7th our Cyber Patriot team, along with their coach, our Project Lead the Way Computer Science teacher, Mrs. Ramirez and technical mentor, Mr. Ramirez, took on Round 2 of the 2018 Cyber Patriot Challenge. Up next is the STATE COMPETITION.
The Cyber Patriot Challenge was created by the Air Force Association (AFA), to inspire K-12 students towards careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). During the challenge, students were given a set of virtual images that represent operating systems. They were tasked with finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities within the images and hardening the system while maintaining critical services over a six-hour period.
We would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Ramirez for bringing this Computer Science opportunity to the students at Los Nietos Middle School STEAM Academy.
